How to keep a engaged Strong Nostalrius Community?

Today, I have started to feel like we have lost alot of people in this community, just because time is needed to make things happen with Blizzard. Nostalrius is a great wow community, but we lost members attention and this way it will start to crawbling down and be weaker. Activision-Blizzard would love a weaker version of Nostalrius and maybe we will never see the changes we want. Remember, every development process has changes in time and Blizzard knows how to make you change your minds.
It's important to keep this community together, if we can't play WoW because realm is shutdown, then define a new way to keep people engaged (maybe another game to entertain people, i don't know... for me new vanilla realms is not a option, just because I don't like to loose my chars).
I only know that
to have a voice in Blizzard HQ, we must stay a strong community! Please, tell me...
what can we do to keep people engaged with Nostalrius Community?-//-
wowmad wrote:Maybe Nostalrius Team and Community can define a strategic agenda of events/news to keep people in touch.
Some ideas:
- The day of all Trolls! (Joking with the current state of retail version, like a player trying to do "Leeroy Jenkins" but alone);
- The day of Voice Acting/Pets! (Where we put our pets (real pets) in a funny moments. Like... I am painted like an Orc, I do a voice acting quest with him... only to receive his loot)
- The day of J. Allen Brack (Were we want the most funny way to say "You think you do, but you dont..."
- The day of Mark Kern (Where we try to recover his history and his influence as Team Leader in vanilla version of the game)
- The day of Cataclysm (Where we collect panic expression moments, when we see something we don't like in the game)
- Final day : The day of Nostalrius (Where we show to all, what we pretend with legacy realms and what we like to have in game)
Maybe this way (with events and news) players would stay focused with community because it's funny!

Being super Nostalrius guy, you must do your daily quests.
- Remember to remind Blizzard via Facebook/ Twitter about Nostalrius.
- If you hear or see/ read something interesting related to Nostalrius, open new topic.
- If you happen to play retail and miss some PVP go tell Blizzard forums how you like vanilla flavor.
(There is at least 1 thread you can safely talk it)
- Enjoy summer

Agreed. This right here is a good way keep people active. Keep up to date on legacy on social media sites, game sites, etc. if you want to talk about something you see, make a post about it. People want to hear what you have to say!

A lot of announcements are being posted in only certain places as well -- like the Front page doesn't have an update, but Facebook or Twitter does.
It would be nice if Nostalrius could organize everyone into a Mailing List for updates & progress, that way everyone is kept included.

I think this all has to do with the fact that we really can't do much right now. The time for signing petitions, spreading the word and taking the fight to Blizzard is over. Now we just wait. I really think it would help if people around the forum started thinking a little more positively all together. I think we've had enough of tinfoil hat conspiracies and people yelling at eachother. Frankly this is really simular to how pretty much any story about a falling society goes. Why don't we make some more positive threads? Interact with eachother? Maybe play some other games together? Sorry to sound like the biggest hippie ever but we really could use some actual community spirit if we REALLY wanna get anywhere. Isn't this what we praised Vanilla for? The feeling of being in a community. Well let's act like a community by thinking positively and staying together.

I completely missed nostalrius and ever since I found this "movement" for vanilla I've been following it very closely, I love vanilla and all the way into TBC even a little wrath, but fell off from the game since.. I can't see myself dealing with the sheer "insanity" of retail wow now, way too much hp and PvP seems ruined. I see nost as a for runner for being able to form the next "curse", "nihilum" type of guild just speaking on the pool of players focused around vanilla content. But I have tried and tried to find the group of people who are organizing and really already posted up at the starting line for retail vanilla release, which in my opinion is inevitable and going to happen. But to no avail on finding these types of people/groups because the guild section of this site is completely dead.
Should anyone have a guild/group of players who are staying organized and looking for more reply here or pm me, don't wana go on this redo of vanilla ridding solo.

What i do is to hastag #YouThinkYouDoButYouDont on most Blizz news, more so for the over rated overwatch

But i dont think its that we lost many people, its more likely that people are just waiting for blizzards answer at this point, and people probably play other games and enjoy other things during the wait.

Do you think that Nostalrius Team can ask Blizzard to allow them to have the realm up for the summer, to keep our community? I'm afraid that people will spread around and do not care anymore.

People don't play WoW much in the summer, anyway. This is the time of year that a lot of guilds start losing people who would rather do something outside, not indoors playing computer games.
