Pls don't move this thread to Off-Topic cos no one reads that section.
Just meanwhile we wait for Vanilla (xd) , why not talk a little about Warcraft, the movie?
Did you like it? What do you think about it?
Imo it was a little dissapointing, i was expecting something better, i think the direction is most likely bad, but the greatest error is that the content of the history is too big for just a film of two hours...

Watching it would give Blizzard money I refuse to give them. Once its on Netflix I'd see it.

Same as Docholy, biggest dissapointment are people that went to see it.

Could always torrent it, if you want to see it but don't want to support blizzard, that's what i did. Was able to watch it before it was even in theatres, good quality to. The movie itself is decent but not great, feels really cheesy at times and i agree the direction is probably the worst part. Maybe if they slowed down, took it more seriously, dropped the garona story arc, or did somehing better with it. The story of warcraft is filled with so many tropes tho, it's hard to ignore them, so it would definitely be a challenge but i do think they could've done better. I do think the lich king story has a lot of potential, if they ever make it that far, i just hope they don't waste it with bad direction.

This, i totally agree. The fail is the direction, and the actors are not good either.

I torrented it. Imho, it's a terrible movie. Shallow characters, diluted story, less than emotionally impactful scenes. If you look at it from a Warcraft fan standpoint.... it's a terrible movie. Retcons left and right (Why the fuck is stormwind still standing?) You can definitely tell Blizzards main demographic these days are the Chinese.
However, lots of people like it, Warcraft fans and your average movie goer all the same. I honestly believe that the movie market has been flooded with terribly mediocre films for quite some time that peoples standards have been lowered to where bad films like Warcraft are viewed as enjoyable.

I actually kind of liked it -- especially having played WC1/WC2/BYTDP

I saw it in 3D - I enjoyed it. It wasn't the greatest, but it was above average, imo. The fact that I knew the basic story added that much more enjoyment. I'm not a lore nerd or anything, so whatever changes from the original story I didn't notice.
I thought the movie would actually be better if they simplified the number of Orc tribal chieftains, there is little to differentiate them. This is true in the original story, more so in the movie.

This movie needed another half an hour or hour more for character development as it felt kinda rushed, the rest is pretty much good.
