Don't know if it's possible, but I would definitly prefer getting everything back in the same place.

And I don't think a majority of people would like to grind again their life out from zero a second time, with the spectrum of Nostalrius' brutal death still in mind. We would need full insurance this won't happen ever again.

I think it would be more epic if everyone started at lvl 1 with patch 1.0. There's only a finite amount of content, plus many of us started late the first time around.

Nostalrius reopens in a different location....that is the first assumption of the consequence that comes to mind if Blizzard doesn't announce legacy servers. But I really am hoping Blizzard does announce them at Blizzcon.

In this possible scenario if Nostalrius did reopen, I think it would be best to have both the old servers back and possibly add a new PVP server as well.

Why would they forfeit player data, that wouldn't make any sense.

I suspect Nost will not reopen. The devs have already attached their face to Nos (an illegal action) and finding them will be easy. Now if the data got hacked, perhaps a pirate Nos will open. But to protect the devs Nos will not return as it was.

Correct, but there are sooo many loopholes to get around the legal limitations of putting up the server again.
