Nostalrius Begins - Quality wow vanilla realm (1.12)

They rt a video named: "Nostalrius is coming back?!". Would they retweet that, if they didnt plan to get the server back? It seems clear to me. They dont want to release the source code. Be prepared. Its happening.

Either they plan to come back or they are teasing people REAL hard, which would not be cool at all. It would be almost like trolling, and I really can't see them trying to troll the whole pserver community.

yes they might really come back. if they arent planning to come back they should have made an announcement by now stating that there was some overthinking or misunderstanding by the community and that they meant something else. they can't keep the community excited for a long time and then let us down

They RT everything Nostalrius related and their goal with all of this seems to be to keep the discussion about Nostalrius alive. My personal guess is that they don't have plans to reopen the server, judging by the fact that they have actually met with Blizzard. Hoping I will be proven wrong if Blizzard doesn't announce anything.

It's proof to me they intend to come back if Blizzard doesn't announce legacy at Blizzcon. Nostalrius isn't gonna troll their community like that with teasers.

Blizzard could talk about legacy, but they already have discussed releasing pristine servers, or they might release a "legacy vanilla server" with a bunch of QoL changes, cash shop, would that qualify?

Or does this mean that they will only re-open if Blizzard doesn't mention the topic at all?

nixxiom, the uploader of the vid that nost retweeted titled nostalrius coming back, said that blizz has to announce legacy servers. If they dont nost is coming back. I would have said take it with a grain of salt, but the fact that nost themselves retweeted it tells me everything nixxiom said is indeed legit.

You gotta remember, blizzard has never said they were going to do legacy. So anything but an actual announcement wont be acceptable by nost. I think the only way blizzard will even acknowledge the legacy issue is by someone asking about it in the Q and A. And it will probably be some BS answer like ''we are still looking into the possibility of it in the future''. If it is an answer like that, i would be f5ing these forums waiting for an official announcement about a nostalrius return.

Also i would say a good 90-95% of us do not want a legacy vanilla realm with a bunch of qol changes and a cash shop. Then it wouldnt be vanilla. We want vanilla in the purest form (the way nost did it). And im pretty sure the nost devs relayed that directly to them.

But what if Blizz announces legacy servers yet they need 2 more years to develop them?

Which is rather sad + they feel the need to "fix" vanilla which might just end up being something completely different. I think everyone is holding their breath until Blizzcon.

they should hire nostalrius staff and open servers asap while they continue development. and classic wow should be an independent department/sub-department under world of warcraft under influence of the nostalrius staff only and no one else!!!
