Re-launcing, releasing the code or doing nothing at all, I just hope they announce it soon to get this whole thing over with.

Why do retail players hate people who want to play vanilla?

In swear it's because they know vanilla will end up more popular then retail modern version

They both have groups that are reasonable, and they both have groups that frickin hate each other.

Vanilla players often act up elitist on the official forums and make their point on how casualized everything is now.
Retail players look down on the vanilla players like they can't move on and have a shit taste for wanting to play a "broken" game.

If you really in-depth to it, Vanilla players love the "Flaws" (are they?) that Vanilla had, and Retail players will call Vanilla flawed and just time-consuming while Vanilla players want the game to be exactly that: Time-consuming.

Vanilla players understand that the journey is what matters and that the grinds / timesinks are needed to make the reward / goal feel rewarding.
I guess retail players are satisfied with what they get. To be fair, I think most Retail players can be split upon in some groups, and sometimes a mix of it:
Transmoggers, who basically play Dress-up.
Raiders, who just want to test their skills and don't care about preparations like pots / flasks. Might as well be gone.
PvP-Players, who obviously wanna compete against each other.

All of these groups look down on vanilla. Transmoggers can't deal with looking shitty for the entire game / a point that takes months to get to
Raiders dislike the simple mechanics
PvPers think it's just button mashing.

Because they pay for retail sub and it bugs them there are people that genuinely think retail is shit. It assaults retailers sense of quality in a way. Thats one explanation, the other may be the people that don't enjoy it either but consider vanilla lovers a threat for blizzard, an obstacle that might cause blizzard to spend resources on old version instead fixing their retail (I could understand that argument but its unlikely its a major fraction).

Anyway when I see a particulary agressive retailer hatin on vanillians I just tend to say "Well if you like retail just gtfo of these forums and continue playing faggot ;p thats what you payed for so chop chop"

MassivelyOP is mostly a small group of people, including their commenters, that turned to a circlejerk.

There is not much gaming expertise there but there are a lot of talkers. It's all bluffers and clickbait turned titles like "What hair color you use the most for your characters?" or "When was the last time you did get angry at your guild mates and why?"..

That Bree is absolutely nothing on the gaming scene nor other people that work there nor the commenters but they all behave like they are the best friends of the top game developers or gamers. To the point the whole team has been fired from its last job and was forced to open their own business which is a disaster by the way: less and less readers due to the terrible quality and silliness of the news.

Massively OP has been against Nostalrius since the very first day they knew about the story and it's only a few days later when they realized the size of the buzz that they turned their tone down in fear to be looked upon badly. I witnessed it all.

I don't know if MassivelyOP was against Nostalrius or not, but they are right about one thing:

Blizzard called the bluff. Period. Fact.
