Now that Blizzard official had announced there will no Vanilla Servers,(saying they still thinking about it after 6 months, is the same as not making one. they just playing the "waiting until its dead" card)

Don't wanna be a killjoy here for anyone but please don't get your hopes up about Nostalrius' revival, they have not made any announcements about it's revival, just statements that have turned into conspiracy theories.

I want Nostalrius up as much as the next guy but I'm bored of being dragged through with these conspiracy theories with nothing definite actually happening. It's not even definite that they will make an announcement, we'll just have to see.

Viper can't tell you anything before there's a meeting of the team to discuss recent developments.

I don't think the team would have lost close contact to each other.

I mean I'd love to see nostalrius online again but I dont think it will happen at this point, unless the devs know something we dont know and they present the biggest balls we could ever imagine.

Nonetheless I'm satisfied with everything that happens in some way. I just cant play the waitinggame anymore. Guys we have played this game too much (waitinggame). All I wish for is a clear statement to plan further steps.

Yes, there are gone since 6 months...

BUT, that does not mean that they do not come back sometime in the future.
The source code and all the data banks are still intact and save.

So technically, if blizzard dont announce legacy server on Blizzcon in 2 weeks, there is a chance that Nostalrius returns as Nos 2.0.

Or they are fucking chickens and release the source code and destroyed the legacy community because hundreds of really bad servers are popping up and the community splits over all...

AS much as I would like my old char back I also find the idea of a fresh start appealing also. If Nostalrius does indeed relaunch with a wipe I would like to see them do so with two PVP servers and the PVE server. This would allow for a large community on the PVP server without it becoming an issue plus the care bears can still have their server. With each server starting off at the same time it would allow for a cross realm system to be implemented for battlegrounds to create a large pool of teams to face. All this of course is predicated on Nostalrius actually relaunching and the population still being the same as it was pre-shut down.

Why not have one of those PVP servers with our old toons on it?

People who felt "behind", want a fresh start, new comers still have a great PVP server to flock to.


Cross Realm PVP would need to be held off until the other servers gear levels were up to par with the "old toons" server. Getting a BG to pop was never an issue even with 1 server and before this 6 months of publicity.

If there ever was a time that the "old toons" pvp server started having BG issues, it would be long enough down the road you could add it to the cross realm BG queue and gear levels should be equal by that time.

While there is a large market of "was a new 60, or was still leveling" that would love to see a fresh restart, it would feel like a smack in the face to the day 1 people whom invested 100+ days played between their main/alts. Those players (including myself) half already experienced the burn of reaching max (or close to it for some) gear/progression to have it all taken away while sleeping/working in 1 day.

The motivation may not be there for a good portion of the hardcore end game community to spend 6+ months to a year getting 50 people to where they were again on a server that already shut down at the blink of an eye.

Crestfall COULD surface as a competitor to Nost if players were not given an option to retain their previous toons. Such competition would be terrible for player base, splitting the vanilla community too far has adverse effects on end game raiding. We all know it is better to have too many trying to get into a raid rather than not enough. Have to beat the Roster Boss first.
