To begin with, I am definitely one of those people that were happy even with the initial announcement, despite having invested a significant amount on my Kronos II character. I am also in favour of bringing the old characters back, even though I think they will prove unused and irrelevant in the end (more so as time progresses), because I do believe them to act as an important signifier for the Nostalrius band, kind of like a stamp of originality that flags the real thing. The latter is what acts a sticking glue for Nostalrius' most important virtue: its community.
That said, I remain hesitant about rolling on Elysium, even though the plan sounds good. Why? Because I have no proof in my hands whatsoever that Elysium can, and indeed will, resist a cease and desist order. As far as I know (I may be wrong), Elysium is based in both Ukraine and in France, and, again from the little that I know, these countries provide the legal framework for Blizzard to go after Elysium, should they want to. If this is true, it is, to say the least, very worrying.
So, I guess what I'm asking is, can someone (preferably Nostalrius/Elysium themselves) provide solid, indisputable evidence that this new endeavour is proof against possible legal action? I know that the Elysium people have said they would refuse to follow a C&D order on reddit, but I'd surely require more than that to invest a huge amount of time anew on Elysium.
