Skull flame shield

I had some questions about this shield

I didnt get much time to play with it before the servers came down on the PvE server.

But I noticed that the life steal did not scale with AP.

I know that in BC, before the 2.4 nerf, this shield's life steal scales with AP, which is why it was nerfed.

my question is.

was the scaling not implemented until BC

or

is it currently bugged and needs to be fixed?

either way I will be holding onto it, hoping that when BC first launches, I will be able to play with it like people could on retail, until its timely nerf.

Are you sure life steal scales with AP?

Spell Power would make more sense, no?

yes, it is reported to due so on wowhead.

again atleast in BC that is what it is supposed to scale with, AP

perhaps it scales with spellpower in vanilla, but I can't remember if i tested it this way or not.

After some research and at least from the 2.0.8 patch, the Skullflame shield life steal is affected by SP, not by AP.

(Note that the flame strike part is not affected neither by SP nor AP.)

Prior that patch, i don't know.

We must ask for someone that tested it here on Nost.

How were all those other items doing btw? Cloak of flames, cloak of fire, storm gauntlets, razor gauntlets.... not to mention stuff like Deathbringer, fiery Retri, Hakkar axe etc...

Fiery Plate Gauntlets, Blazefury Medallion, and Fiery Retributer all scaled at 12% of SP (yes, it really is that much, and it's fantastic). Pretty sure Storm Gauntlets also scaled at 12%, but I didn't explicitly test them since Fiery Plate Gauntlets are better anyways (10% damage and -resistance from Curse of Elements)

Pretty sure reflective damage that is guaranteed to reflect doesn't scale (Razor Gauntlets, Cloak of Flames). At least Razor Gauntlets didn't. If it required you to take an action to proc, or was a less than 100% chance to proc on a certain event, it scaled with SP.

And I can confirm that Skullflame Shield's procs did NOT scale with AP, just SP
