Banned from Nostalrius PVP

So unfortunately I have been banned from the server on my shaman Slinkii, while trying to quest in STV.
I was questing just outside Booty Bay and having some problems with some alliance ganking me, all of a sudden I get disconnected and when I reconnected I was greeted with a message saying my account has been closed. I am super bummed out that I can no longer play with my friends and lost all my progress.
I don't know why I would be banned out of the blue, but it really sucks. What sucks even more is that my friend gave me a really good level 43 weapon for me to use, but now I lost it and I might have to explain that to him.
I don't know what to do or who to go to, I really hope you guys can help me out here.
